Training Fatigue Question: Body/Mind Great! Legs, not so Much...
I have ramped up my training over the past few weeks. Got a classic trainer and started doing structured workouts versus just riding.

I feel great. I am motivated, excited. I cant wait to do the next workout. I am NOT sore. But when I stand up to walk, my legs are just fatigued and tired in a weird way. They seem to stay like that. My quads are just toast.

I have always ran 30+ miles per week so my legs are used to the work. But I dont know what is going on. Is this a recovery issue? Anything I can do to make my legs not tired?

Without seeing a full training schedule it's hard to say.

However, my first thought is Glycogen depletion.
Take a day or two off, eat lots. See if you get better.

You have cardiovascular endurance but not as much muscular endurance. Hard trainer intervals are a strength workout like i suspect you've not had before. As others have said, back off a bit to recover and build into it a little more slowly. You need time to build the strength. In the off season, work in some weight training; this will help prepare you for the next season.

My thought is that your legs are fatigued because you are training them harder. See how it goes.

Training UP
Recovery ??

Structured workouts on a trainer are much more taxing than just leisure riding.

If you up your work load, you'll need to adjust in other areas.

Time to structure the REST of the training. ;)
