Trainerroad question
Been using Trainerroad for about a year now and LOVE IT! Last week I purchased a new Win8 touch machine and cannot get the Ant+ to sync. I can upload to Garmin Connect with no problem via Ant+ and 910? I'm getting "ANT Channel error" at the bottom the devices page. Any help? Nate? I've uninstalled TR and Ant agent a coupe times and no go.

Make sure the Garmin ANT Agent software isn't running while TrainerRoad is.

I had a bitch of a time with that "ant channel error" when I started TR 5 weeks ago. I had a new Acer laptop I was working with.. Was in daily contact with Nate and their IT guys. Nothing helped. Acer had a few programs built in that were always on in the background and I had a feeling one of these was not allowing communication with TR. I have no proof but I deleted these programs and a bunch of other crap I didnt need and bam....works like a charm now. One program in particular (cant remember name) that was always on looking for ways to increase speed/ performance of the computer really bothered me. So, delete away i say.

Kind of reminds me of when the Adobe licensing agent and Skype using the same ports to communicate with the mothership, neither one was tolerant of it being changed. I either could have Skype running or Photoshop, but not both. Maybe look at that?

This laptop is an ACER as well. Funny I started deleteing things like McAffe and others to see if that helped- so far NO dice! Thnaks for the feedback. I will start unistalling all the ACER bloatware or simply return the laptop and get a Mac, HP or Lenovo- something reputable! :)

Should I return it and just get a Mac? They're so damn expensive... :)

I like the computer. Works great now. Did you find the program thats always on in the background looking at ways to speed up the computer? If you go to the apps view its by the acer programs but may have not been an acer program itself. Give me a list of program names you see. I will know it when i see it, then get rid of that sucker!

FWIW I bought a windows surface pro to run trainer road, no problems at all.

Cheaper than a Mac but more than the Acer....

Good luck, I hate it when technology doesn't work.

I had this same problem. Email them about it. You may have to revert back to an older version. I did that and no problems now.

Another customer for an Acer laptop that ran into this same issue. I saw this thread and did exactly what Pharmguy did. After doing that, Trainerroad works! Pharmguy, you the man!

That is so crazy for me TR won't find my stick and therefore any of my devices unless I turn the ant agent on.

I'll open TR it will say can't find stick, I turn ant agent on and bam devices.

This is a home built machine just for my training with only trainer road and FF installed so no OEM crap to cause problems.

I had similar issues on my new Acer laptop. Deleting a program named "Soluto" fixed the error for me.
