Trainer on wood floors
We just moved to Chicago and will be renting for a year or so. Older home with wood floors. Trainer will go on second floor but I need to figure out what to do to dampen the vibrations a bit not to drive everyone crazy.

Anyone found a good solution for that?

I had great luck with this on wood floors. It's a simple rubber mat that held up to the trainer legs. I had another one from amazon that was too soft and started getting torn up over time.

Start with these, get what you need to size it out

and put this on top of it

and trainer on that. A lot of dampening and dispersion blah blah blah's behind it.

Welcome to Chicago Francois!

I'd go for a weightroom floor mat: thicker, more durable and no seams for sweat/dna to leak thru. They won't creep, and won't scrape the floor. which your landlord will appreciate.

I think I got mine at Fitness Factory

If you are really worried about keeping the floor pristine, use protection film underneath the mat.

I tried several things and this is the winner.....hands down. It is a horse stall mat. You may not have a Tractor Supply near you, and not sure how they would ship this.....but a Horse Tackle Shop near Chicago should be able to help as well.

Perfect. I just drove past it as we live in Forest Park, and it's just down the street. Will go and check. Well, whenever the movers show up anyway.
