Tour de France tid bit: 2 different crank lengths to kill the "dead spots"

Anyone else catch this one, not sure of the rider but the commenters made note of it around the 73 km to go mark.

Thoughts? Seems like a wierd solution to me, maybe I'm missing the science behind the reasoning.

I was only half listening but assumed they were talking about Froome’s elliptical chain rings at that point.

Shoot I just deleted it from DVR as it was a decently boring stage..

nah, that was Paul ineptly attempting to explain the reasoning behind Froome's Ossymetric chainrings

I actually do use a shorter crank for my shorter left femur.

Yeah he said that riding elliptical rings felt strange at first, like riding two different crank lengths... Or something like that. Odd way to describe it for sure.
