Just read on the 'Inside Triathlon' webiste about Tom Demerly's editioral 'An Elite Athlete' from the Bikesport Michigan page (http://www.insidetri.com/news/fea/1465.0.html).
I didn't know that this article get that much attention.

I was amazed this piece got the attention it did. It was like the Orson Welles "War of the World's" thing. To me, the story is so obviously fiction I don't see how anyone could mistake it for journalism- but that was my bad judgement. Most people enjoyed the story and knew it was a fictional representation of events that could be real. Some people (including media) thought it was reality and were pissed when they found out it wasn't. Oops, my bad. I recall that Tom Clancy had some explaining to do around Washington after then President Reagan read a copy of "Red Storm Rising". Before I piss anyone else off, that is not a comparison between me and Clacy- I don't for one second compare my "writing" to his. He is the master.
