Tom A's Aero Checklist?
Is there somewhere, where I can find all of Tom As aero improvements in one spot. Basically I want to be like Tom A, with some minor position adjustments for IM distance racing.

I've tried the search function and found bits and pieces, but I would love to hear about Tom's current optimized setup.

"the trick is to keep losing weight until your friends and family ask you if you've been sick. then you know you're within 10 pounds. if they start whispering to each other, wondering if you've got cancer or aids, you're within 5. when they actually do an intervention, you're at race weight." - Slowman

my only question is... after all the front brake discussion... what's best to run (on an externally routed cable) on the rear? And after you say "hooker" what next?

This probably isn't too shabby, depending on how you route the cable:

See, I like the looks of the simkins a lot...

...the fact that it is not top mounted just seems...well... non aero to me... although I've read the threads about it... 3 watts is 3 watts.

The rear that would seem to hold true, although less so (as the cable will be around the side anyways.)

On the rear, the side-mounted cable routing can still be pretty clean:

It helps that on a Titanflex the rear brake is almost horizontal so the cable has both reduced FSA and the shape the wind sees is an elongated oval (quite aero compared to a cylinder). Those brakes also look quite aero when the wind hits the "top" of them instead of the "front." (I'm currently running some Ultegra brakes...gotta look into a rear simkin).

Yep. I agree on all counts. You're not in M45-49, are you? ;)

Not for a few more years. Racing 40-44 here in NorCal.
