Titanflex Gear Cable Routing

I've been trying to get hold of Tom Piszkin, who is usually quick to reply to any questions about the internal gear cable routing in the al-ti, as they need replacing. Does anyone hear have any experience or advice before I make a start on this job.

Yes, You can PM me if you like and I could walk you through it. Any specific questions? My version is a little bit different from the norm....I have all the cables internal from behind the stem, and the rear brake coming out in the center of the 'seat tube', as opposed to on the left side of the monocoque frame just in front of the wheel.

I have the frame with the left-side cable entry. Took it to a pro-level LBS that caters to roadies and they made a mess of the shifting. Took it to a local shop that specializes in tri bikes and they did a great job. My take was that it was difficult enough to confuse some pretty talented wrenches, so take it to guys with a lot of experience in internal routing.

Hey RLB,

I've haven't received any phone calls or e-mails from you, so this is the first I'm hearing of your questions about internal cable routing. Bring em on! ...either via the Slowtwitch forum which you joined today, or off line.

Hi Tom

I have emailed 4 times, once a week for 4 weeks, using the email address used previouslyto get in touch with you, which is the same as on the website, but great to finally be in touch
I have the left hand side entry on a large Al-ti. The issue occurred when taking out the inner gear cables to swap bars over. The cables needed a lot of force to get them out, which caused some damage to the inner's and now unable to get a cable in to the inner's, hence the need to replace the inner's. So how should i be going about replacing them. Thanks.

Thanks for cabling info. It may be a little of my league to do myself, but I’ll re-read and see what I think. I’m ok with basic wrenching, but don’t have the experience with the drilling and the haven't got the set up to do it at home, but that’s what I wanted to know before I started on it myself.
