Titanflex - To post or not to post pictures
Quote | Reply
I pulled the trigger on the Titanflex bike after talking Tom's (the owner) ear off about every little nitpicky thing I could think of to convince myself not to buy the bike.

I went with the beam bike to help with my back issues that come from long hours playing junior, college, and eventually pro golf. I am only 31, but the back ain't pretty. I finally found a road bike (an all carbon Argon 18) that doesn't kill my lower back within the first 30 miles of a ride. I can make it 100 with some mild stiffness after the ride and maybe the next day.

So, the real question is, when I receive the bike next week, do I dare post pictures of her on ST? Maybe I'll post pics of the Argon 18 as well to deflect some attention and criticism.

It's fine if you post pics of your new "bike", as long as you follow these rules:

- DON'T call it porn!
- The thread TITLE should have the following note "WARNING: Contains disturbing Titanflex pictures".

That may be one of the funniest threads I've read. Good thing that my wife doesn't post here, wouldn't want her and my kids to know my secret.

Yeah, the first few replies are pretty hysterical until people started getting all serious and offended!

Post pics of the bike though, it will be something different. Just remember, clean up the background and have the chain in the big ring!

I was thinking about posting the Titanflex with my Argon 18 Platinum and titling the thread: "Beauty and the Beast: Warning: Contains Beam Bike Fetish Pics (NSFW)"

My dear Paulo-

It pains my heart to think that you might never forgive me for my Titanflex "porn" post last year. I deeply regret any emotional distress this may have caused you. I have learned my lesson.

My only hope is that some day you may learn to see past superficial glossy carbon fiber weave and swoopy double diamond shapes and learn to appreciate true inner beauty. It's Ok. Go ahead, take that 650c Softride out of your closet once in a while and and admire her.

It's been a year already? The experience was so traumatic to me that it seems it was only yesterday.

Just to give all a heads up on what is to come:

It is the large Transition frame - while not as aerodynamic as the Veteran, Tom and I discussed the geometry of the two bikes and agreed that the Transition had better measurements (front:center, TT lengths at various ST angles, etc.) for what I was looking for.

I can't decide if the Transition is any better looking that the Veteran. If I were to be totally honest, neither one of them is pretty. Can't argue with results though and it won't matter to me as long as I can ride comfortably and hop off and run.

I'll make sure that she has her racing wheels on when I post the pictures. She shares the racing wheels with my road bike so don't be looking for 90's front and rear.
