Using the charging/download clip, when I attach the watch screen shows a cpu image for a few seconds and then returns to the time screen. the watch continues to charge but I get an error message on my computer stating "USB device not recognized". have tried cleaning all the contacts but with no success. Help?

Did you get this issue sorted? I'm also having the same issue. Here's what I've tried so far...
- updating firmware
- deleting old workouts (except the one I really want to upload to strava)
- other usb port
- restart a million times
- both the Timex Device Agent and the Training Peaks device agent
