Time Trial Helmets Ban ?!
I don't know if you've heard but we've seen in the British press that the UCI is going to ban aero style fairing helmets for TTing next season (I know a lot of you guys TT as well as Tri). Manufacturers will have to work fast.

Anyone know anything about this ?

Yup, it's true. "Real" helmets like the Garneau Prologue will be legal, but head fairings will be gone. I think it's a good idea - it will make the riders safer and it will goad Giro/Bell, Briko, etc. into giving Garneau some competition.

Does this apply to us amateurs as well as on local TT races do you think ?

I know safety is paramount but I guess this raises the old performance vs personal risk debate.....

It'll be interesting to see what the main helmet players come up with on this short notice.

Head fairing arealready illegal in the US, helmets must be certirfied.
Limar will be entering this market in late March with an aero TT helmet. Probably means april.

I'd love to see GIRO do a Rev IV approved helmet. That would be a huge seller.
