I recently purchased the titanium speedplay zeroes. I love the pedals, but I just noticed on the box that there is a suggested weight limit of 185 (I know, I probably should have seen that before, but the LBS installed them when I was getting some other stuff done). I weigh exactly 185, so I'm not particularly worried--just curious. Does anybody know the reason for the restriction? I assume it is concern for flex rather than breaking strength, given the properties of Titanium?

My opinion is that you are tooheavy for these. As a Speedplay retailer I would recommend the cro-moly spindle.

Tom,I was REALLY hoping you wouldn't say that. Is it a flex issue or a safety issue? Thanks.

Pretend they are a parachute. Would you jump it?

Hmm. point taken. Thanks.
The weight difference between the steel and titanium speedplays is pretty small anyway so why take chances? I'm around 170-172 when I'm in racing shape and I ride the steel ones on the recommendation of the shop that I bought them at.
