The who, what, and why of top (aka carbon-plated) Run shoes
Quote | Reply
So, it's Olympic year and all the brands are going to do their big releases (or at least show their prototypes) off. Every brand wants 'their athlete' to be #1 at the end of the day, so they're trying to produce fast shoes! Which is excellent for us consumers trying to find ways of getting faster without training like a pro

I'm admittedly a Nike fanboy - so the Zoomfly, 4%, Next %, and upcoming Alphafly are all options that I love. There's also some new Nike spikes which will use tech similar to the Alphafly, and some new flats that have been hinted at but no official info released as of yet. What else is out there?
- The Saucony Endorphin Pro looks like a welcome upgrade from their Type A's (which I didn't get along with, but that's my own issue to deal with)
- Asics prototypes Frodo was wearing at Kona
- Adidas prototypes that looks scarily similar to the Next %'s
- New Balance Fuelracer's which will be available soon
- Brooks Hyperion Elite with carbon plates

It's not an exhaustive list... yet. I'm sure there are more out there, so what are they? Does anyone have photos, or release dates, of any of the new top-level shoes that will be available soon?

*this assumes that all of these shoes aren't banned soon
