The ultimate commuting dope - The E-bike (stolen! again)
Went to the underground Monday with battery in hand and that moment of disbelief "what where's the bike?"
Stupid as hell. They twisted the eyebolt out of the concrete with my weight bar. And #2 me again for not locking the rear wheel with the U.
Why didn't they take the car? Keys were in it, surfer style :)

So OMG OMG it's bike to work week and I have my Argon E80 I can ride, but I am so doped on "E" that I can't fathom to take the thing.

After some on-line shopping and phoning bike shops, I decide it's best to get a good bike and electrify it. The Canadian Bionx is in receivership and kits are 25% off (no warranty). I get a cool Brodie Dynamo but can these guys install the kit tonight?? I'm seriously like a junkie.

I'm forced to ride the commute without electric assist, and dreading it. No more bending time and space, crushing hills, deep sixing traffic and busting the pack like they are standing still.

But after I take to the road things become very "schwarz and weiss". I've adapted my city riding to "E". I've lost bottom end, torque, climbing strength. And I'm addicted to boiling on that damn battery.

Decision, I've got to go cold turkey, at least for the summer :).

My creative style kind of morphed writing a blog for our hockey team. It packs a lot of info in, blast away. Same for my guitar work these days - I just play for the moment.

Anyway the underlying theme of the post is about athletes who dope (Schwarz & Weiss), linkage phrase to the thread about Michael also which is the color of my new Brodie bike (black and white).

The emotions of withdrawal from using the electric "dope" were real and kinda crazy.

I came to the conclusion that a doper will likely find an easier target/venue like switching sports, rather than give up doping. Therefore the behavior is more of an addict, than a cheater imo. Giving up doping would be a last resort.

But what kind of cyclist am I, that I can't hit the greenway without being on battery? Week is done, I'm off the dope, unplugged and back on track.

Just like strumming an acoustic guitar :)

Two stolen bikes, that sucks. When I was living in Portland thieves removed and stole the entire bike rack (unbolted it from the cement) in order to steal my Bianchi San Jose.

As for e-bikes, I’ve never ridden one. Though I’ve been tempted to pick up a pedal assist for commmuting so I could arrive to work a little less sweaty. I would go for this one, simple and inexpensive
