The age of the round chainring is over!
Hello All,

Breakthrough!!

I know what you are thinking .... why didn't somebody think of this before .... it is so obvious .....

https://www.pinkbike.com/...e-to-the-future.html

"The age of the round chainring is over.

Through an exhaustive R&D process to refine the oval chainring we discovered that optimum pedalling efficiency didn't come from subtly altering the circle, it came from a whole new shape we call the 'square'.

By breaking the pedalling action into 90-degree segments the rider effortlessly puts four times more power to the rear wheel. In between these peak power moments, there is the restive stage of pedalling which riders report a 90% decrease in fatigue."

In cycling races where commentators say the rider is peddling squares at the end of a race will be all the more truthful...

I'm not sure if a triangle would be better for some riders ..

Science has known the advantage of 'square' for years. Add this to a set of power cranks and we've got ourselves the ultimate crankset.

Only for Pink bikers. This is half a season of testing, possibly on a Velotron, for Slowtwitchers.

Oh, completely serious, the release date of this announcement is just a coincidence. The science behind square chainrings is very robust and expect to see this innovation take the cycling world by storm in the next year or two.

It won't work right, you have too look at how they have the corners lined up with leg position; for optimization of leg rotation the corners have to be rotated at least 10 degrees to take advantage of where the legs need to be. But that will just cause the spider arms to not sit properly centered so it'll just look silly. Either way it won't be good for anyone who spins faster than 90 cadence just like biopacè.
So when can I buy on, always need the newest and wannabe greatest thing.

That's a good one, I also enjoyed this

Both were better than the article on

Round chainrings are a myth. Chainrings are flat.
