Get my FTP above 280, get my 70.3 pb to sub 4.10, run a sub 1.16 half... I could name a lot of goals, but really I just want to enjoy another year in the sport, make friends and support everyone out racing!

You have to get to the start line before you get to the finish line.

I would like to average at least 53 hrs of sleep per week. Ideally I would get over 56. Last year I short changed myself. It never works out in the long run.

Personal “for me” resolution is to completely kick any sort of energy drink. I originally was thinking about kicking caffeine completely but I think that’s going to take a bit more of a taper than a New Years cold turkey cut-off.

Triathlon related = qualify for worlds for 2021 if I don't get a rolldown spot for 2020.

Personal = get a job I enjoy more.

Never saw the point

If say on Dec 3rd or Oct 28th etc, I thought you know what I should eat more greens or stretch more etc

I would just start doing it that day. Never saw the point in waiting until Jan 1

I’ll bet more people fall off their New Years resolutions than fall off new lifestyles started on the other 364 days of the year

For me it is simple - get healthy.

currently and hopefully at the tail end of a severe cold, sinusitis and bronchitis. Just tried a 60 minutes session at low intensity and had to bail at the 40 minute mark. Started coughing and couldn't stop until my heart rate came down. And to think my 2019 season started with the flu and that was the worst.

Stay healthy all.

My goals will be small incremental improvements over time. I spent much of last year with wild swings in body weight, diet, performance, and I was dissatisfied for a large part of the year while depriving myself. I refuse to fall prey to fad diets, training regimens, etc. This year is all about consistency, stability, and sustainability. I will be happy with the results and myself no matter the outcomes.

I don't really do resolutions, but by now the "resolutions are trite and pointless" take is more trite and pointless than resolutions are (follow that?), so I'll throw some thoughts out there:

- lose 10% of my bodyweight
- improve my cycling fitness (by what measure?) by 10%
- get a 10% faster bike

That should improve my cycling by 30% (or 27%), right?

Be all in this year. No excuses. See if I really have what it takes to win an Ironman race (amateur field).

Too old to go pro but doing it anyway

Complete my first triathlon after a 10 year break.
I decided to pace myself and start with a 1/2 IM in April.
Do they still call them 1/2 IMs?

For me, overall, it's to be less isolated. That's not primarily a fitness-based resolution, but it does mean I'll try to do more runs with other people. Other than running with my wife, I probably didn't run with anyone else more than a handful of times in 2019.

GREAT goals.

Mine is to feel more open and forget perceived stigma about my mental health issues and the fact that I'm a recovering alcoholic. The truth is that I am proud of who I am and the more I've been able to express that the more I've had people (particularly other athletes) want to share and learn better ways to grow as humans themselves.

At the end of the day my FTP on the bike and run as well as swim speeds are hella fun to work on, but they are not a measure of my human worth. I spent a good many years chasing all of those while not focusing on growth as a person.

Cheers all.
