Listen to your body. A proper taper is dependent upon lifting heavy. Maybe do a casual run of the Appalachian hill faster than any other human as well.

I'm reading a book, "Calm the F Down and Rise to the Occassion" and am currently in a chapter discussing atletes response to injury. Ithad me thinking, 'but my body craves it' during the discussion of taking time off.
