Swin Skin vs Tri Suit
My friend was offered a Swim Skim as a gift from her boyfriend. I guess he tought it was a Tri Suit.

She will participate to the ITU Tri this weekend, she hopes to qualify for the World Championships.

But she don't know if this suit is legal or appropriate for this event...

It this suit legal for this race??

Is this ITU Montreal? If so, here's the snippet from the ITU Competition Rules:

c.) Swimskins:
(i) Swimskins may be removed after the swim segment, except in the standard distance and shorter events.
(ii) Swimskins must be 100% textile material, which is defined as materials consisting of natural and/or synthetic, individual and non-consolidated yarns used to constitute a fabric by weaving, knitting and/or braiding (this generally refers to suits made only from nylon or lycra that do not have any rubberized material such as polyurethane or neoprene);\
(iii) Swimskins must comply with the wetsuit section of the applicable Guidelines Regarding Authorised Identifications for middle and long distance events.

The gist is she'll have to wear it for the entire race assuming it meets the material requirement. Given most swim skins aren't made for bike/run, it's probably not appropriate.

Did you read the rules noted above. You can't wear a swimskin in an ITU short course race .

Well, you CAN. But you wouldn't want to....

I believe the rules also state that you have to wear the ITU kit (if it applies here, not sure) as the top layer if you choose to wear 2 layers of clothing. So a swimskin would also be pointless.

Which event is she racing? There are a bunch of Age Group and Jr/Youth events in addition to the main Elite WTS race and the "undercard" Elite CAMTri race.
