Stefan came out of the water in joint first with Alistair Brownlee and Adam Bowden...and over a minute up on Tim Don.If he didnt cut the course this must be up there with one of the best adult onset swim progressions of all time.

Seemingly not!
But Brownlee is first into T2. Not the smoothest dismount or bike rack you've ever seen.

What were his swim times like before this race?

i neer saw him in the top 3 on the tracker but the tracker was certainly misbehaved today. most of the time it did not work at all, or was sketchy.

the story up on the main page ends with a pretty embarrassing note:
Due to technical issues, Ironman.com could not provide a record of any splits and did not record the finish time of women’s 3rd place finisher Lisa Roberts of the U.S.
how is this still the case in 2019? get it together, ironman!

He finished it but I can't find any splits. I think Peter was mentioned in the Blog on the race coverage. There's a few words from him on the race at the end of this article https://www.google.com/...athlon-38434738.html
