You are failing to understand the point of this thread, it's to show a feature within Golden Cheetah using this points system as an example.?

This thread's title is somewhat misleading then.

I don't understand how the thread's title "Slowman's Aerobic Points in GoldenCheetah" can be misleading when the first paragraph says:

For the users of GoldenCheetah willing to track Slowman's Aerobic Points the latest version (3.4) allows to define Custom Metrics which can be used for that purpose:

and the rest is just a detailed explanation about how to do that.

Of course -as attentive readers have noted- nothing in the explanation, except for formula used, is specific to that metric, for example just changing the formula to { value { RPE * Duration/60 } } would allow to track Session RPE using the same configuration and charts.

Let's see how to build a PMC like chart to monitor training load based on your Aerobic Points custom metric, independently of which formula you used to compute it. you can download the attached chart definition and drag&drop it on GoldenCheetah v3.4, it should look like this:

By default the chart will use your selected Season/Date Range and will show the combined result of the 3 sports, you can use the filters on the side bar to isolate a single sport or see the combined effect of 2 of them, see the wiki for a detailed explanation: https://github.com/...%20Bar_Trends%20view

Woah. Dragging and dropping a .gchart is very cool.

Thanks Ale.

To give credit where it is due, It's Mark's work, like Custom Metrics, Formulas, R integration, etc.

Even when to use the chart drag&drop is enough I will give an overview of the process to create it since it may be useful to have a better understanding and customization possibilities.

The chart is created using View > Add Chart > Metric Trends, the interesting part is Curves, the final version has 5:

The first it is just the base metric (Aerobic Points in this case) plotted as bars:

The following 3 are "Stress" curves, they are defined using a base metric (Aerobic Points in this case) and Stress Type:

1) Acute is Short Term Stress (STS/ATL), an exponentially weighted moving average with 7 day default time constant.
2) Chronic is Long Term Stress (LTS/CTL), an exponentially weighted moving average with 42 day default time constant.
3) Balance is Stress Balance (SB/TSB), the difference between the above two.
In all cases units are the base metrics units per day.

And finally the Acute/Chronic ratio is a Formula:

It was a response to those complaining about having a discussion about Slowman's Aerobic Points when the thread title is "Slowman's Aerobic Points in GoldenCheetah".

I think it would have been better titled "Building custom metrics in GC" or something similar as that's far more important/interesting than the specific metric example.
