Depends. What is the scope of the podcast? What will the podcast provide that others don’t?

No. Would rather you fix the search function and/or update the site.

1.) Search function on the forum or the main site?
2.) "update the site" -- again, forum or the editorial side of the site? And what are you looking for for updates?

Forum for both.

Update meaning easier navigation; overhaul for easier picture uploads and inserting links.

Want to give me a couple examples of places you frequent (as a forum, mind) that gives the UX you're looking for?

You can also just hit me on email. My first name at Slowtwitch dot com.

Sure, give it a try ... what's the worst that can happen?

Don't make it too serious though

Here's the synopsis of the most recent episode of Ten Junk Miles, my most listened to podcast of 2020 and 2021, according to Spotify

"Join Scotty, Kat, Holly, Mandi and Eddie for Ten Junk Miles in which they discuss: Chicken sex, the Slack challenge, Boston, Life of Pi, Running in cemeteries, Cher and much much more!!"

These are ultra runners, if that makes a difference at all, and they're from Chicago

I solemnly swear that we'll be up to no good.

That give you a general idea of how we'd approach it?

If Dan was interviewing key players in the sport as part of the podcast it would definitely be interesting.

I'd be interested in listening to the initial episodes, almost without regard to the content description, as a matter of curiosity. In addition to unique, compelling content, be sure to provide quality audio. Too many podcasts with interesting running, cycling, multi sport content are unlistenable. Hosts talking over each other, poor quality audio, variable audio quality/volume among hosts...ugh. Trainer road does this aspect of podcasting pretty well...PM me for podcasts that are less well executed, IMO.

Depending on the frequency, they should do every fourth episode or so with someone FROM Slowtwitch

Starting with you, Dev!!!

I mentioned in the "what happed to TRS podcast?" thread, that a designer friend of mine in PA did some branding for a friend of hers that started a running podcast - it sucked

I didn't have the heart to tell her "Your friend is a hack"

To paraphrase Dr. Ian Malcolm "she was so preoccupied with whether or not she could, she didn't stop to think if she should"

I'm not saying she might not get better*, but she's got some things to learn ... like NOT to use silly drops/samples/sound effect JUST because you figured out how to put them in

* That was back in July, I think? She's done a few more since; maybe I'll try again?

Absolutely. I think the podcast market is ripe for a fact-based consumer/age-grouper centered podcast that has the kinds of features you’d find in a good magazine or on the front page of Slowtwitch. An interesting interview with a pro, industry news about new gear, updates on races and human interest stories. Also the occasional opinion column from somebody witty and well-informed (that would be Dan, of course.)

I have three draft episodes I recorded earlier this year that I won’t release…because the audio sucked.

I used to host radio and run the production board simultaneously. We’re gonna make it sound halfway decent.

Yes, I would like you to do one, maybe even two or three!

I'm pretty sure that Ryan will have a pretty good handle on production values with his background in the very lucrative field of radio broadcasting! (take it from one who knows)

I'm celebrating/lamenting (ummmm) my 170th episode of Fitspeek next month and audio quality is one of my obsessions right up there with bike fit, never really satisfied, always looking for better sound.
