Seat post clamp broken?

I think I overtightened my seatpost clamp. The post kept slipping on my ride today and I noticed the two sides of the clamp were completely touching and the bolt seems to have broken through the metal on one side.

Am I seeing this correctly? I am having a hard time finding a 30.9 clamp online, which is what I think I need for my 2012 Cannondale CAAD10.

I believe that the diameter of your seatpost is 30.9mm.

The seatpost clamp is probably 34.9mm.

First thing I would do is remove the clamp, take the post out and inspect everything to make sure the post/mast hasn't been crushed. I would be concerned that the clamp is now tightened past where it used to go.

If all is well, looks like 30.9 is the right size for the caad 10-12 bikes, that does seem to be an odd size.

Yes, it is 30.9. I saw that one. Can’t live with red haha! Think I found one from stage21bikes.com, never heard of them though

Frame doesn’t look to be damaged. I’m concerned about that too. Yeah, I have found it very hard to find but think I have a lead!

Not a bad idea. I actually really want an orange seatpost clamp. This is how I could get it. Thanks!

Any suggestions on what type of spray paint would be good on a seatpost clamp?

I would scuff it up with some sandpaper and buy whatever paint at Home Depot that says it is good on metal.

Just be careful not to scuff it too much and get down to bare aluminum. The anodizing is a good protective layer from sweat corrosion.

I 'painted' and old frame with PlastiDip and it worked really well. Plus, it's easy to remove if you decide you don't like it.

I was thinking about it but my brother has used it and says it tends to dry matte, I'm looking more for a gloss finish
