San Dimas Stage Race Mar 29-31
The San Dimas Stage race starts tomorrow with the classic TT up Glendora Mountain Road before the tough circuit race on Saturday and the downtown crit on Sunday. Anyone racing by any chance? I'm racing cat 3 - starting my TT at 10:22. Which sucks because it means leaving the house before the E3 is done. :-( That said, still stoked to race San Dimas for the first time.

I'm not racing, but I am making sure a few others are. We just finished going through the bikes and getting the van loaded...

Not going this year, but I love watching Cory and Justin Williams race in the Crits.

Yeah they've been on a roll this year. Their team isn't that big but they are all super strong, race offensively and beat everyone in a sprint too. They seem a bit too dominant at times (they always win and sometimes sweep the podium) but that is because they are simply the best in our area and the rest is just not good enough to beat them. THey're not in San Dimas this weekend, I think they are racing in Texas instead.

I'll be there watching my son race 17-18.

Excellent event. Fun, tough, and a bit crazy, road race. Crit course is standard.

Enjoy!

Not standard for SoCal. Has just enough of a little hill to make things at least slightly interesting.

Little hill?

Always knew SoCal cyclists were soft - some of them, anyway ;)

Ha, as a San Dimas High alum ('85) I'd like to travel back and do this race some day, it does sound excellent!

So you graduated ahead of William "Bill" S. Presto, Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan?

Is Matthew your son? His race was mega impressive- as a junior beating the pros by half a minute and coming within seconds of Phil Gaimon’s KOM. If so, big congrats!!!

There has yet to be a paternity test - but that is the current assumption.

How is your race going?

Tough day today, we had 7 laps in the afternoon and I lost a bottle in the first lap on the way to Heckler Hill. I didn't have anyone in the feed zone so that messed up my plan and I could only try to conserve energy and survive rather than race aggressively. I took a beer from a guy in a duck costume on Heckler Hill (because I was desperate) and the following lap he gave me what looked like a coke (but as it turned out, with whiskey...). So it was an experience :-D . But even without that I wasn't having my greatest day, lacking some peak power a bit. I guess running the LA marathon last weekend didn't really help.

Jason Pederson won the men's Cat 2 race. He's an ex-ITU pro who had several WTS starts in 2014-2016. Now has full-time job and a baby! Congrats, Jason!
