It almost feels like Bannister read about Tenzing hauling Hillary through the now famous "Hillary Step" (no one really knows who hauled who, but I am thinking the Nepalese local was likely not the "haulee") the year before and thinking, "hey, I am close to the running Everest summit let me get some dudes to draft off of who will behave themselves and stay on pace (vs trying to draft Landy who would do everything stupid to not let Bannister draft, but would overcook himself in the process) and do on the track what Hillary did on Everest and then we can use the British media to market this to death!!!

Interestingly enough, while the WR for the mile has been going down, Mt. Everest/Chomolungma has been getting taller [about 2 feet since 1953]

Sort of did one Last Tuesday. It was actually my last mile of a 4mile set where each mile was supposed to be 10s faster than the previous. I started too slow, so I had too much left for the last mile, and ran a 7:07 (way faster than the 10s it was supposed to be from mile 3). Did the same workout last night but started 25s faster on the first mile and finished at a 7:25.

Thanks for the tip - will try tonight. I have no problem waiting longer, I didn't actually time my rest, just went after I was reasonably recovered.
