Kona-excitement seems far away for the time being. I think perhaps the craziest part is her 2:12 bike spilt!! Any woman ever topped that?

Shame Ryf did not do IM Texas this year for an unbeatable fastest bike split

You mean Jen Annett is not the fastest cyclist in the world?

So dominant. I wonder how long she can keep it up? Chrissie who won her last Kona at 34 then retired. Ryf is now 31. Will she stay on the game to win more titles than PNF who also last won at 34?

Lucy Charles is young and the real deal. As dominant as Ryf is, at some point, Charles will challenge her.

Really impressive but ~11-12 mins slower than the male pros on the bike and 16ish minutes overall I think. Still crazy fast.

Ryf was 5 minutes slower on the bike and then outran Rinny by 4+ minutes and Nils F. by 2 minutes to finish 4 minutes behind him. Didn’t he do top 5 or 10 at Kona last year!?

Like I said before HAHAHAHA

What is up with Ryf's hair though??? In the pics she looks like she has either a crew-cut or a a very receding hairline??? Has anyone seen her up close in person??? Just curious. :)

Paula was 11th overall at IMH in 1988. Will Ryf go better than that? It will be interesting to watch.

Newby-Fraser’s remarkable Ironman finish in 1988 was the shot heard ’round the world of sport. Rival Erin Baker upped the ante tremendously, topping her year-old record by 23 minutes with a 9:12:14 finish. But Newby-Fraser slaughtered Baker by 11 minutes and her old standard by 34 minutes with a 9:01:01 finish. Indeed, Newby-Fraser appeared to be in a league of her own; her greatest rivals were men. She finished 11th overall, just a breath over 30 minutes behind the men’s overall winner, Scott Molina, and along the way she bested a string of certified men’s stars, including her boyfriend, Paul Huddle, by 3:45; Greg Welch by 6:13; Jeff Devlin by 9:53; and Peter Kropko by an amazing 20:36.

Well, she did give up a little time in T2 deciding between the A-line and the Mini run dress ! Oh, and did you see how long she took with her skin moisturuzer ?

Who the fuck cares how she looked killing it ?

Assuming the "Doc Sutto Effect" is still in play? Meaning, he is still her coach as of this day?

I don’t think she or any other female will ever match PNF’s 11th overall finish. The men’s field is just too deep now. I know better gear and some other changes have helped lower times, but Molina’s winning time that year would’ve only been good enough for 18th overall in 2017.

Yeah, the pic on the front page looks weird, kinda looks like she has male pattern baldness if you look quickly. I think she might be wearing a headband. All the pics on her instagram look fine

Can't wait to see her destroy in Kona. This feels like Bolt, Phelps, Chris Hoy. You know they'll dominate, you just want to see how.
