2022 has been a good year for triathlon fans and now this. I’m curious how Jan and Patrick are healing.

I wonder who else will now sign up to race Roth now that it is starting to get a stacked field?

I think Josh Amberger is racing. Might create a bit of a gap if Jan is with Amberger coming out of the swim.

Isn't Sebi scheduled to race too?

Out of the 3 big 140.3 races this year, St George, Roth, and Kona which one will end up being the most star studden and competitive.

Roth is looking like it might be more competitive with the big names than the 2 WC races.

I am wondering how many big names are going to end up sick or injured before Kona. A lot of pros are going to be tempted to really be overcooked for Kona.

Hopefully Lionel resists the urge to sign up now that Frodo is racing. I think 3 high level 140.6 performances in 6 months would be pushing it.

Yes, he is

Didn't Sebi retire? Is he back to racing formally again?

this is his last full IM as a pro, as I understand. he'll probably continue to do some half distance races

It looks strange that Lange has the course record 7'19 when the bike was 170km. Frodo must've thought, "broken achilles or not, will have to fix that"

he has announced his retirement next year, but is now on a 2-year 'farewell tour' that sounds like a blast. a combination of competitive races and bucket-list events.

So, what's the state of moto-doping at Roth for 2022? Will Challenge make an effort to not shroud the first out of the water with 4-5 motos? or does first out of the water earn you a Sub7 pace train and a cool water sprayer next to you on the run? maybe Superleague course cutting chutes? or maybe just a fair race so we know who was the best on the day ...

I didn't think that Roth was going to be Sebi's last IM, but this was to be his last year racing.

Ooohhh I didn't know that. I thought when he made the announcement he was done. WooHoo!!! I love me some Sebi. I really hope he wins a few races before he is done.

Happy to see Jan targeting a start line but ZERO chance his running is 100% by Roth. (my guess is he will admit the same) The only one of your mentioned 3 100% going in is Long.

agree, seems like just a couple of weeks ago he was cleared to run, but that's merely according to his own instagram posts

In a short video announcing his Roth start, he said he wasn’t sure if he would go out on the run. Will depend on how his Achilles feels. So we could be looking at a “preventive DNF”.

Yep, I don't think you can say it's the most competitive field without at least one of the Norwegians there. I think unless something goes terribly wrong the rest of this season Kona will be the most competitive. As for Roth, my money is on Lange.

Never know, could pull a T.O. from Kona 2019.

i like josh a lot but i really dont feel hes at his best, at least seeing what he has done recently compared to his competition and their level.
