I'm there! 35-39m. Completed my first 70.3 last year in Indian Wells with a 4:51, hoping to take some time off that!

I was at Indian Wells too! 4:52 in m30-34 there, but aged up to m35-39 this year. so I'm sure we'll be in proximity on the course in Victoria. Good luck!

Hopefully the water isn't that cold this time. Haha. Good luck!

Haha yes it sure was cold in IWLQ. I dipped in elk lake last weekend and it was cool but refreshing.

This is my second time. It's a great race. Perks of IM brand race with chill vibe of independent race.

That's what drew me to it. Seems like a fast course too. Weather is looking it will be nice, but pretty cool

It's a fast course for confident cyclists. There's lots of rolling hills and winding roads where you need to be able to carry your speed, so some may lose time if they aren't strong bike handlers. The run can be fast even though it is on gravel, it is almost completely shaded so athletes are less likely overheat.

I was checking in on the race blog. Looked like some ferocious racing.

Rinnie takes the win, that's gotta feel good.
Paula Findlay was on fire but smoked out, to a DNF.

Sam Long put the heat on Cody Beals as well and ran to a 36 sec margin for the M-Pro1.

Any details on what happened to Paula to cause her to pull out? Injury?

Edit:On her Instagram, Paula says it was an Achilles issue.

How did everyone do?!

Thought it was a great day yesterday. Race was well organized and the course was great. Water was smooth and a good temp. Bike course was definitely more technical than others I have raced but we still able to pull out a PB. Knew those hills were coming in the last half so kept some in the tank. The run course being 95% in the shade was a real plus!

Finished top 10 in my age group and ended up being a rolldown spot to Nice 🎉 Great day overall.

Nicely done! I had a good day, PR for the course by 30 min over last years time (down to 4:57 this year!). This is a great tough and honest course. Great volunteers as always. It felt like a very strong M35-39 field out there. Sounds like the pro race was a good one too. Rinny tore past me as I was finishing up lap 1 on the run and she was almost done.
