What's worth looking at for around $3000? I can get (really) nice deals
on a giant (forgot which one, but it's not the one with integrated seat tube) with SRAM force, and similarly on a trek OCLV 5.5, with Force for around $3,400...(well below MSRP).

Suggestions?

cervelo S2
Felts
scott

specialized

really at that price range they are all going to be awesome, light, and cool looking.

pick the one you think is MOST cool looking, or go with an aero felt or cervelo if you are an aero weenie =)

Cervelo R3 with Force, I think is in that range.

The R3 is one of the best thought out road bikes on the market. If you are using it for long training, group riding or really any other kind of road riding on a road bike other than high-end road racing( where the S- series with the aero advantage comes in handy), then the R3 is your bike. It truly offers up amazing stiffness, but also a smooth and comfortable ride.

With a little work you coudl almost get a bike with full Red and some nice carbon hoops for $3K. Of course it woudl all be used, but still.

As the others said, It is hard to get a 'Bad' $3,000 bike
