Retroactive Kona slots for Chatt + Indiana !?
Per [https://www.triathlete.com/...lification-answered/]

26 slots were handed out in person. Per the above:

"[Ironman has since retroactively raised the spots to 45 at each race, and contacted the next athletes in line in the roll down via email to inform them of their slot.]"

Indeed, the number of slots has been bumped to 45 on the IMWC web page.

They gave away 2 slots in person to 35-39M. I finished 3rd in Chatt. I haven't done the math, but I have to imagine at least 1 of the 19 additional slots should land in my size-able AG.

That said, I've heard nothing from IM. Has anyone heard anything about this? Been offered a slot? How would one chase like something this down?

Thanks! Crap title on that other thread, as they call out.

Did Vittoria award slots in person? I imagine they are better positioned to send out the emails if they had planned on the whole roll down being "virtual" from that start, versus the retroactive slots.

I'll return to continually refreshing my inbox for the next days/weeks -- and I'll re-post if I hear anything.

^ What I am calculating for CHATT. Using the Google Sheet from https://www.coachcox.co.uk/...ona-slot-allocation/ and finisher data from https://www.endurance-data.com/...ironman-chattanooga/

ooooh that's great news! I don't think anyone heard anything "official" from Ironman about the slots being offered, only from the website. Someone getting emails for the extra slots should be a good confirmation that it's happening!

Vittoria slot awards were all virtual, so you had to register interest in Kona upfront, then then they sent out an invite to the highest ranked athletes who had 48 hours to accept, before it rolled down and invites were sent to the next athlete..

Should happening for IM Maryland as well.

Can anyone confirm if KQ slots are calculated by starters or finishers? If you look at the IM Texas KQ breakdown (from the app) the numbers don't match the Ironman website results. I would like to do a spreadsheet for IMMD but need to get the right numbers.

Slots are calculated by the number of starters.

Since the other thread have an unusable title, i'll post here:

First retroactive slot were offered for Hambourg yesterday evening. So i imagine the process will go on quickly.
Athlete have short time to decide and take the credit card out, like 48h.
I don't think they mention SG for now, only Kona.

Anyone have any experience with how they are handing out the STG and Kona slots for next year? I wasn't sure if they went through the Kona slot allocation first, and then went to St. G in each age group?

Just received the e-mail :)
I did Vichy and finished 3rd in my category.

I have 48hours to confirm and pay the registration fee…

Vichy was the first race to offer slots for Kona 2022 so it seems normal that I have already received the e-mail.

Hope it will arrive fast for you.

I think the slots for StG are gone, based upon the normal August cut off for the October race, and so are probably pretty full with the other racers that were signed up. I could be wrong though...

DFRU - Detta Family Racing Unit...the kids like it and we all get out and after it...gotta keep the fam involved!

They offered slots to St. G 2022 (and Kona 2022) at Texas as they are trying to fill up the St. G race. No word on if they will offer St. G slots at other fall IMs but guessing they will. Heard they have approx 1500 slots available before they retroactively award slots to past races (Aug-Oct).

I head they were also doing this for 70.3 - I finished 4th in my AG at 70.3 Maine back in August, and I haven't heard anything from active or Ironman. Not sure if I somehow missed out or if emails haven't gone out yet.

Chronologically, would this also apply to September 70.3’s that didn’t have extra slots?

Also, at what place do they start offering slots? Do they go back to qualifiers that may not have gone to an in-person roll down?

Any ideas?

This is my big question. At the time of the race in Maine the 70.3 World Champs were still scheduled in 2022 in New Zealand. That wouldn't work for me, so I didn't bother sticking around. Not sure how this is addressed.
