Renting a road or gravel bike in San Diego
Quote | Reply
I'm visiting San Diego in April and have one day set aside for a long ride. I tried searching the forum for bike rental recommendations, but Nytro has been sold to Trek and Moment no longer rents bikes out of their old town location...

So any recommendations on a shop that rents high quality road bikes that's accessible from the Mission Bay area by public transit or Uber?

If you were willing to travel to Nytro in Encinitas, just up the PCH from that location, Cadence Cyclery has just opened up a shop. I don't know if they rent bikes at that location, but I know they do at their Texas locations, so it might be worth giving them a call.

Moment Bicycles is now renting out of our Old Town Location again. They have a size run of the Enve Melee SRAM Red with Enve 3.4 (sweet setup). A size run of Pinarello Prince with ultegra mechanical, various 3T and Giant Gravel bikes, and some full suspension mountain bikes from Niner and Giant. You can reserve them online at http://www.momentbikes.com/...ll-rentals-pg622.htm Hope that helps!

Thanks for the update! When I went last year I rented from Moment out of their Carmel Valley location and had a great experience. The Old Town location will be even more convenient if you're in the city. Hoping to go again next spring and will keep this in mind.

Synaptic Cycles is a company I've used before. They picked up and dropped off at my hotel which was very convenient.
