if you go to your local tee-shirt printing shop and have printed "why the hell did I marry him" she can be as reflective as she wants

If you want a reflective vest this is the one. I have one and between it and lights on the bike I feel as safe at night as I do during day cycling.

Stands out amazingly at night in car headlights (ive seen them when out driving on some dark country lanes and they were SO visible). No way can someone say the old SMIDSY excuse when you have one of those on.

Safety vests can be tailored pretty cheaply with a new seam down the sides.

And to top it off - you can tell her that they are "All the Rage" in Paris this year!
