I’ve seen mention of people using this setup for the stem but not much with the seat post. I purchased both and absolutely love this setup. One thing I used to dislike about my gravel bike is the rough ride. This stem and seat post combo is perfect, and really is a game changer on the gravel roads. Anyone who rides gravel should seriously invest in this suspension system.

I've got the stem on my Warbird and really like it. I've been eying the seat post as well but holding off until my new Cutthroat comes in - mid to late May supposedly.

To me, it’s the seat post that is making all the difference. I rode a local fire road without it, and then the next week I added the suspension seat post, and it turned the ride from a jarring experience to moving in tune with the bumps. I was like “why don’t the pros use this at Paris Roubaix?”

Funny you should mention Paris-Roubaix - I added the shockstop stem to my road bike for the sportive a couple years back and I'm quite sure it did help. For me, on those surfaces, it was definitely the arms, shoulders, neck and hands that suffered the most and probably distracted me from what was happening at the back end, but I'm sure I would have benefitted from a bit more cushioning under my bum.

Mind you, probably the best thing I could have done was use much wider tyres and lower pressure but was limited to 27mm (measured 29 ish) on the spesh allez I had at the time and maybe 70 psi.

Short of a fat bike or a hovercraft, there's only so much you can do about la trouée d'Arenberg. Some of the mainland europeans were on full sus mountain bikes but where's the fun intl that?!

Thought the stem was very well-made kit.

Cheers, R

I have the stem on my gravel bike. I’m honestly not 100% certain I installed it right, as I can only move it a little bit putting my body weight on it. Maybe I’m comparing it to a MTB fork in thinking there’d be more play in it.

I did a 3+ hour ride over the weekend on dirt, single track, packed sand and a bit of pavement. Neck and triceps were a bit sore afterwards, but maybe this was because it was my first outdoor ride in a few months.

Same here with the stem, I don’t notice much movement (and I had my LBS install the stem and seatpost). It’s the seatpost that gave me the noticeable difference in ride quality

You probably do and that's the "problem" with it. I experienced the same thing when I first installed mine according to the directions. Then I started to hear/read on various forums/Facebook that the recommended elastomer setting according to the directions is usually considered too stiff. Back it off one setting and it should make a big difference. I did and have been very happy with it and haven't had any issues with over a year of use.

For those searching on this type of thing, there's also the Kinekt seatpost and stem. I've been using the seatposts for about 4 years now, and LOVE them. Developed by the same people that were behind the Softride system, it utilizes the same path of motion for the saddle, so there's no effect on reach. Very active and supple system.

I haven't tried the stem yet, but yeah, the seatpost is a game changer.
