Recommendation for Swimming in Backyard Pool
Quote | Reply
BLUF: Has anyone had experience using a swim harness/tether and can offer feedback or recommendations?

I will be going to Los Angeles in a few weeks and staying for a week at my in-laws, who have a small, backyard pool. I have a base of swimming fitness I would like to maintain as much as possible during the week. I have seen several swimming tether products that will allow you to "swim" in such a pool.

Has anyone tried a swim tether and can offer a recommendation or alternative?

Thanks in advance.

No recommendations on the harness.

But, thought I'd share this..we were thinking of going for a swim until I saw how much ice was on the roof...decided to skip the swim and open the pool cover just to be safe

For travel (and the inevitable 15' hotel pool) I use a surf leash and a pull buoy (an inflatable one, so it packs small). Get a 6' leash on amazon for <$20 and attach it to the stair/ladder rail. I find that my legs sink like a rock w/o the buoy, YMMV.
