Just maybe the most comfortable balloon-tire "road bike" around? A monster crosser? A road bike for really bad roads? Who knows? Anyway, some build notes: the 29er frame (from performance bike) cost less than $90. The 80mm travel manitou fork was a closeout and also pretty cheap (but it cost more than the frame). The wheels, based on shimano XT disc hubs, were hand built. Most everything else came from ebay. The drivetrain is basically a shimano 105 road triple group that I set up to work with a compact double crankset (but using a triple octalink BB). Via a custom modification (the addition of a small alloy arm fabricated from thick hardware store sheet aluminum), the road front derailleur now works as if it was designed as a top pull instead of a bottom pull.

This thing keeps making me: (1) Laugh and (2) Really want one simultaneously.

Here's mine.
It's changed slightly since the pic was taken, and will again this coming week.. all part of the perpetual evolution.

TCR Advanced SL 3. I dig it! Averaging more than 30 miles/day since I got it a few weeks ago.

That is very, very, VERY hot. White stem seems weird but it works with the bottle and wheels imo. what frame?

Don't get me wrong...that bike is SICK!

It just looks like the extensions are much higher than the bullhorns. Maybe it's just the angle. Maybe it's the way the bars are. Either way, nicely done...it looks killer :)

No you are right, I have a riser kit under the extensions/pads, nothing unusual about that in fact its fairly common set up now. Thanks for the comments.

Like the look of those straight extensions, are they comfy for you on your wrists?

it is common on crazy low bikes like a shiv but unusual on a bike with high stack like a slice.

however you may just have short upper arms =)

Not that unusual in my opinion. I added some risers for this season but may drop it again.

Not brand new but I finally got it set up the way I want. I finished painting my disk wheel this morning and feel the need to show off.

Other side of wheel.
