Dan needs to start (re-start??) selling jerseys and other swag. Dammit, I pay an exorbitant membership fee every year, I should get something back, you know??

I agree. Keep kit color uniform same every year. unlike other teams requiring you to get a new one each year

Excellent point. Itā€™s more about the community for me. I donā€™t have an active local community (not active enough for my liking at least) so I am looking for others to communicate with, bounce ideas off of, learn new tips/tricks, talk shop, and generally commiserate with. I do understand your position though for sure.

If what you're looking for is an online community (plus some gear discounts and whatnot) then also take a look at Endurance Nation. Their forum has been a little quiet during Covid times but it's normally pretty active and a very good source of info from very seasoned members, without the ST snark (for better or worse), and they have several very active live chat groups on Geneva (just migrated from GroupMe). They host several Zwift races and group rides each week, and always have a strong showing at all the major races. I guess it's not a "team" in the same sense as some of the other teams mentioned here, in that anyone can join, but it seems like it ticks a lot of the boxes you listed.

Dev, as usual you make good points. I enjoy the proximity benefits of our local team much more than I likely would one of the brand-representing (coaching/ clothing/ bikes/ etc) teams.

At the same time, I see both the practical and fun benefits of such teams. There is a human yearning for ā€œtribeā€, and showing up to big events and seeing members of your tribe can enhance the experience, especially if you know them from forums, training camps, etc. I had a small taste of that at ITU worlds in Chicago - the parade, the race, walking around.

On a different level, were I a really high-performing athlete I see the benefits of a Team Everyman Jack or a Team Timex (RIP?) where you have training camps and connection with other athletes at your level. That, however, is not a problem I will ever be faced with šŸ˜‚

Back to the OPā€™s question, I have (faster) friends on this team. Is is fairly local to us, so they get a bit of the best of both worlds:

Couldnā€™t agree more with this. I added Stellafly, but they are closed for apps right now

Base Performance (https://www.baseperformance.com), Base is a great team with many members across North America. This team is very social at many of the large races and holds team camps in Florida and Boulder each year (this year was a little different).

I am interested in joining an age-group Tri team. I found this thread from last year regarding the topic but wanted to compile a relevant up-to-date list of current age-group Tri teams that you can apply to. I know some teams have closed applications but wanted others input on good teams to be a part of that are accepting members now or opening soon. I am currently a member of my local Tri club but they are not super active and so I am missing the community aspect. Donā€™t much care about discounts, etc., just want to be part of an active team.

Here is the thread I found:

https://forum.slowtwitch.com/forum/?post=7060158

Here is the list Iā€™ve compiled thus far:
Team Zoot (closed applications 10/15)
Matt Hanson Racing (open)
AP Racing (open)
Rev3 Tri (seems to be closed)
Snapple Team (open)
Baucco Squad (closed)
Kiwami (seem to be closed)
Wattie Ink (closed)
ENVE (closed)
Full Send (open)
Pearwear (closed)
Q2T (open but have to sign up for coaching)
Team Every Man Jack (seem to be closed)
Castelli Colletivo (open)
Dimond Factory (open)
SFuels (open)
Blueseventy (closed)
TriForce (open)
Cupcake Cartel (closed)
Stellafly (closed)
Base Performance (open)
FLO (closed)

Thatā€™s all I could find really. Any input from current/past members or any recommendations I missed would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for starting this thread. I am in the same boat as you and was looking for discussion on AG Triathlon Teams.

I didn't know that there was any type of application process for AG teams until about this time last year. I then applied to 5 teams. I was turned down to two teams, accepted to two teams, and have not idea what the deal was with the fifth team. I got confirmation that they had received my application but never got an acceptance or rejection letter.

I joined the Kiwami Team. It was a good experience for me. I live in Oklahoma and there is only one other member of the team in the state so I only got to do one race this year with another team member (a Super Sprint Duathlon in Guthrie, OK where both the Kiwami team member in the state raced). I tried to get the other team member to do a Duathlon Team with me at the Regional Championship thinking that we could win the event, but we weren't able to make that event work out for a team so I race individually placing 6th overall and 3rd over all master). Yes, there were team races set up and I planned on going the USAT AG National meet with about 20 other people on the team, but that didn't happen. Our team camp was canceled too. So, the extent of our activeness as a team consisted of 1) a supportive Strava team where I tried to keep up with my team mates on our team leader board and I got lots of Kudos and encouragement from team members 2) An active FaceBook group that was closed to the team where people could post race results (again not many this year), epic training workout completed, share news going on in the sport, ideas for staying motivated, etc. 3) We also had a Trainer Roads team where we had a custom PFT builder program shared with the team, 4) I don't Zwift, but there was a Zwift team too, and 4) we all signed up for the two weeks of free Rouvy and did a 56 mile team ride on Rouvy coupled with a Zoom call one weekend. Since we didn't get any VIP time with out brand sponsors at the team camp 5) our bike sponsor set up a conference call with the team where we got a lot of the insider information on their top secret new market development and got to discuss ways to make our team partnership more active and interactive. Our team had a few elite triathletes, tons of AG competitive team members, may who are certified USAT coaches, many have raced Kona, etc. It is a great community. but as an national team that was spread across a dozen time zones was an online community so it is not the same experience you would would have with a local tri club that gets together every week for an OWS, long bike ride, or speed work at the track. I live in a small town that doesn't even have a lap swimming pool or a bike shop for 50 miles and the closes Tri Club is 2 hours away so the on-line team was perfect for me. They did get me in some top of the line race gear which was a added bonus too and I did use some of the Discount Codes for our team partners to save money on shoes and race-day nutrition. Since we weren't able to do any team races this year, there was some talk of keeping the same team for 2021 and just making 2020 a bye year. We haven't got any final word on this yet so there is a possibility that there will be an application for the team open up in a few weeks. Many of these AG team may be in similar situations so I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them open up their application process in late October and November and would say to keep checking back on the teams that don't appear to be open.

Great info! I thought it was a good list to make too as I could not find a consolidated list of AG teams out there and assumed I was not the only one with interest.

Thanks for putting this list together. Here is the link for information on the BASE Team, which I personally run. Dev - I think you will see if you read this link that there are all different types of teams out there. Different strokes for different folks. Every Man Jack for example are all super fast. My group is comprised of team members who are not near let's say LA Tri Club, or Golden Gate Tri Club. Perhaps the closest local club is 2 hours away. So the athlete wants a community. Want to join teammates for dinner when they travel all day to an IM event. And not "eat dinner alone" That is the type of things these national teams bring to the table.

Acceptance to the Full Send Ambassador team gives you the right to pay $90 for a hat, pair of socks, water bottle, and a coaster. Lol.

Thanks for the clarification. I was kind of confused by their new three tier Full Send team. The top team said that you get the best discounts and it was a lower cost if I remember correctly, then their was the middle team that got lower benefits than the first team (i.e. lower discounts and I think higher cost to join) and then the bottom team that got even lower discounts than the middle team. I was excited about applying for Full Send in 2019, but the tier things was a real turn off this year. You can't be everything to everyone. If Full Send is going to be a team of really fast people that dominate at ever race they go to then they need to make that their brand and not do anything else because any effort that is not in line with that goal is working against it and leaves a negative impact on the team. Are their sponsors really going to offer a team discount and only let some of the team have the 40% discount and other only a 20% discount and others only a 10% discount? Of course not so what ever Full Send is doing seems like a good way to destroy team unity. I am a masters athlete and have learned over decades and decades that there are great athletes that are terrible coaches and great coaches that were/are terrible athletes. This moved seemed like a great athlete making a terrible coaching decision to me. The only draw to full send was that they were a team that didn't care about brand sponsorship, social footprint, etc. They just wanted to race hard and race together so that they could support and lift each other in the sport. They seem like sell outs and hypocrites now.
