Unfortunately, Due to a family situation, I'm relatively positive I will not be able to make the Gulf Coast Triathlon this May. Of course, I've already signed up, made hotel reservations, and trained my tail off for this thing.

What is the typical procedure when dropping out of a race? Am I out of luck as far as race fees go? Is it possible to get a refund? I really wish I didn't have to ask these questions but family comes first! Thanks in advance for sharing any advice/opinions/experiences and I guess I will look forward to Gulf Coast 2004.
