I pick Michellie to "pull a Lessing" and win in her debut.

Evans looked super strong at IMC but I don't know if he can get away as much on that flat course... So i'll say Leder (he's not racing IMH?).

Although it's fools gold to pick that race this far out considering any number of pros can drop out early in IMH.

I concur though Francois, definitely shaping up to be an interesting field.

if he is recovered from injuries/sickness etc... Leder is the fastest and most consistent performer over the IM distance in Florida.
But his season hasn't been stellar (not qualified for kona).

MJ could indeed pull a Lessing...

I'll go for Michellie and Lothar with strong performance from Francois Modave!

I was talking to an Age grouper that's thinking about turning pro when I was vacationing in Northern California... she said that her friends that were training in Florida used to joke about the flatness... Aparently in all seriousness, they would ride the rounded bridges to get in some hill training! :-)

... Make sure you stretch out that back every once in a while on the bike!

Can't wait to see Michellie go long! I think Joe U did IMH back in his amateur days - look out! Of course, field will benefit from DNS/DNFs from Hawaii. Historically, Florida seems to be one of the premier pro events, but it sucks as an AG Kona qualifier (draft fest).

doubt it...IMNA requires all pros (but the very very best who usually don't go to Fl if they don't perform in kona) to register at least 4 wks before IMFL

Michellie was at the Chicago Tri signing autographs, she said she wasnt doing Chicago because she was in middle of big training block for IMFL. She seemed like a nice girl. I second that she will pull a Lessing.

She did a talk at Fleet Feet on North and Wells in 02 with Joanna Zeiger and brought the silver from Sydney.

Now I am no groupie but getting to hold an Oly medal was very cool. She was very nice as well, but the medal, I have not forgotten that and it was heavier than I thought and for some reason that sticks with me.

Yeah, it seems like every year there's a couple of pro's who DNF or DNS at Kona, then do IMF instead.

Michellie Jones??? Fantastic, I hope I get a chance to see her...does anyone else know the other pros that will be attending IMFLA??
