Predictions?: Ironman African Championship

Tim Don, Ben Hoffman, Bart Aeronauts... one or two others -should be a good shootout..

I'm going with a come-from-behind-on-the-run win for Aeronauts..

Split on McNamee and Aernouts.

Aernouts has a new bike sponsor (Ceepo) and is now an "independent" athlete. I hope he has been in a situation where he could focus on training and could rely on his support network for everything else, since the fact he's no longer part of a team (BMC Vifit).

Had the chance to see him take the win in Nice (2014) and Lanzarote (2017), super nice and down to earth guy.

Anyhow, race with a stellar field, can't wait 'till sunday. Ronde van Vlaanderen and IMSA :)

Unless something weird happens, I don't see Kyle Buckingham repeating. Not sure on the rest of the field.

It's so early in the season, it's hard to be in top form this time of year. I feel like Hoffman is probably carrying a lot of stress regarding last season and he has delivered at this race several years in a row (minus 2018). I'd say it'll come down to McNamee and Hoffman, I think McNamee knows his weakness as the bike and seems to be addressing it in the offseason.

I'll go:

Hoffman
McNamee
Frommhold

Charles-Barclay
Naeth
Brandon

Team Zoot 2019
