Powertap Firmware Upgrade?
I recently got a new computer and connected my Powertap head unit to it and if seems to have wrecked it. The display says "APldir" and won't do anything else. Through some searching, I read something about updating the firmware on the head unit, but I can't find the software or the method to do it. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks!

I'd call them. No one has ever heard of this error message if you typed it correctly.

I typed it wrong. "Apldr". Searching on that gives some results, but no fixes - http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/...ndex.php?t46385.html

Thought I'd post a solution I've found for this in case others are searching for an answer.
If its stuck in Apldr in PowerAgent go to tools>firmware>reset AL/Bootloader. This will fix it.

Then go to tools>firmware>check for firmware update.

Well this sucks. No matter how many different things I try, I get, "No supported devices were found." Is there a driver or something for the Mac I might be missing?

You'll need to do it from a PC.

Thought I would bring this thread back from the dead with an update. As of August 31, 2012, (yes, that's a full 8 months after this thread), Saris does not have an answer for Mac users. The customer support person I just spoke with suggested finding a friend with a PC, downloading Poweragent to their PC, and using their computer (yeah, right), or shipping the electronics module back to them for a fix. Could give no ETA on a Mac fix but said "they're working on it."

Seems kind of odd to plunk down over $1000 for a product and not have it supported re: firmware updates...yet.

Mine died Monday. When computer asked for me to download new firmware which i did and voila, my freaking Joule has gone black and not recognized. Literally, screen is black static. Of course Monday was day after IMC and so my file from the race is in the ether somewhere within the Joule not accessible. Great. Glad that helps me.

I have also had two powertap hubs blow in 4 months.

I am not happy.
