Ortho believes I have posterior tibial tendonitis. They would like to start a short course of prednisone to see if it clears it up so I can race next week-end. The doctor would rather use this than a Cortisone shot since it's so close the race. I'm kind of hesitant since I can't find much information on it online except for Achilles tendonitis. Anyone have success with using prednisone for tendonitis?

I have had the exact same injury and unfortunately it did not work. I found that therband exercises, stretching, and massage combines with rest was the best cure.

Did you use prednisone PO? How much? How long did it take before you could run again?
Not a Dr. But that seems like an odd use of prednisone.
Is there anyone in your area that practices dry-needling? My experience with dry-needling (not acupuncture) is that it works quickly.
Seems like manual therapy would be a good option for this.
