Here are a couple relatively recent ones...

Fiesta Island TT
1) 326 average, 328 NP
2) 25.6 mph (though results say 26mph)
3) 12.3 miles (3 lap 20km TT)
4) 190lbs (6'1.5")
5) P3 with 808 Firecrest (road kit with arm warmers), aero helmet
6) Got a flat warming up, so had no warm up time. Conditions were perfect otherwise. Not the most aero TT kit.

Oceanside 3/31/12
1) 270 average, 279 NP
2) 22.1 mph (2:30:18)
3) 55.671 per Garmin 500
4) 190lbs (6'1.5")
5) P3 with 808 Firecrest (desoto tri 1 piece with arm warmers), aero helmet
6) Rainy. Cold. Not much wind though.

Something seems wrong here. 342W for only 24.6 mph? 300W for only 21 mph? That is big power for pretty slow speed.

Normalized power is not average power and should not be used in an aero comparison. Normalized power is a measure of the physiological toll of your workout and a means to evaluate your pacing during a TT. Average power is the variable that is applicable to evaluating energy expended vs velocity...

5) Describe bike and wheels 2009 Felt b12 with 20-spoke front wheel and wheelcover rear. Latex tube and Corsa Evo CX on rear, nameless tire and butyl tube on front (having issues getting nice tires on my front race wheel)
6) Misc notes, to whine and make excuses for your lack of power and/or lack of aero No aero helmet, kinda baggy jersey.
Non-aero front wheel, crappy tires and tubes on front wheel. Even if I fixed all those, I'm still speeding well below where my power should put me.

Every time I post in this thread it makes me sad :(

6'5 makes you stick out in the wind a bit more. Metro tri had a bit of wind and Wildflower has a bit a climbing for a bigger guy.

No offense taken. Big guys just push more watts. Sort of a "Law of diminishing returns" thing.

Triathlon race, not a TT.

1) 218 watts
2) 22.0 mph
3) 25.6 miles (forgot to shut off my Garmin on the bike leg, so I was running through a long transition with everything still running, not sure if that messes up my numbers a little)
4) 6'4", 165 lbs
5) Trek SC - 9 series with Zipp FC 808 (front/rear)
6) This was an Olympic distance triathlon, I was trying to control my heart rate instead of going all out (stupid idea...I'm still a rookie, next time haul ass), course was mostly flat without any major hills.
7) I don't have a side shot of my profile...this was from the race. I can go a little lower, but I'm training for IMAZ in November, so it needs to be a fast and "comfortable" position. I have R.A. and had 3 back surgeries L4/L5 (racing MX), so flexibility is an issue with going lower too.

6) Misc notes, to whine and make excuses for your lack of power and/or lack of aero Terrible pacing, start over 1000wt, turn exits 817-550wts, position seems adequate.
7) Optional: a picture (or link to a picture) of you in your aero position. My head's up, setting up for left hander.

Here's an interesting comparison of two very different races on exactly the same equipment:
2010 Felt B2
808 (non-FC) front, 900 disc rear, Michelin Pro4's, Giro aero helmet (can't remember exact model...)
Rider: 170 lbs, 6'-1"
FTP 276 Watts

Apr 21, 2012, Charleston Half (very flat and fast course)
Ave Power 234 Watts, Normalized 235 Watts (told you it was flat)
55.39 miles, 2:17:31, 24.2 mi/h

May 5, 2012, Ironman Saint George (rather hilly and windy)
Ave Power 188 Watts, Normalized 195 Watts
112.12 miles, 6:18:47, 17.8 mi/h (you can take off 7 minutes for bathroom and mechanical stops, but still pretty slow)

My original plan for IMSG was 195 Watts, but riding out of transition into the headwind, I quickly revised my estimate downwards. Smart decision. I'm not sure I would have finished had I pushed harder.
