Orca Alpha vs. Zoot Wikiwiki wetsuits
I’m in the market for a new wetsuit and I really like the thinner material used in the arms & shoulders of these 2 wetsuits. Increased shoulder mobility is the primary reason for looking at these in particular. The durability of these types of suits is a concern though.

I’m looking for general reviews/feedback of these 2, or suggestions of other suits that also use thinner material in the arms.

*Only interested in full sleeve suits, no sleeveless.

Thanks!

I own the Orca Alpha. Incredible feeling. Just like swimming in speedos.
I have had it for more than a year, used 10-15x in races mostly.

The material feels durable, no signs of wear yet. It is however super super fragile (would not recommend to put it in a suitcase, I always carry it with me on a flight). It was damaged by a volunteer who helped me in T1 despite wearing gloves (small cuts). Frustrating…
I have owned other wetsuits in the past, and they were not that prone to small cuts. Don’t know about Zoot wetsuits

We may want to read this article (if you haven’t done it yet) and watch the following ones coming up.

I have the Wikiwiki and I am very happy with it. The thin material over the arms and shoulders is shocking at first. I was really worried about ripping it, but so far, I haven't had any issues (second season in it). Whenever other ppl get a close up of me putting it on (or checking out the suit), they can't believe how thin the arms are.
I love it and find the range of motion is excellent and non restrictive.

Not sure of your size, but I have a gently used Wikiwiki that I have used for around 12 swims (half in races). It's a size M. I really like it, especially the range of motion in the shoulders, but I'm down a bit in weight, and it feels a little looser than I'd like. I'm currently 6' and 164 lbs. At 168-170 lbs it fit me very well. Funny how a few pounds seem to change the fit, but I've gone back to my Roka Elite. Let me know if you are at all interested.

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately it would be a size too big for me.
But I am curious how it compares to your Roka (fit/feel). How have your swim times compared between the two?

Swim times between the two suits were pretty comparable, but, for me, I don't think I had the correct sizing for the Wikiwiki. I was around one minute quicker in the Roka a year earlier compared to the Zoot in the same race. The Zoot was a tad too big even around 170 lbs, and now that I'm around 6 lbs lighter it lets in a bit of water. The super thin arms on the Zoot are great, and you get a good feel for the water. I'm not quite sure what it is, but the Roka just feels a bit better for me - maybe it's the 'arms up' construction.
