No wimmin's allowed. Quick poll. Do it now.

With all the hamstring-related stuff we saw at Daytona, it made me think of this question.

Can you touch your toes?

I had to google 'wimmin' and was surprised. :)

The answer is yes, I can.

PS. Gross simplification, but if it hurts under knees, not under butt, it means you sit most of the day in less than ideal posture :)

I can not. Even after 2 minutes of trying.

I can. Surprised myself.

I don't think Daytona hamstring issues were because of a lack of flexibility though.

Yeah, I'm not sure if they are either. But I'm sure somebody here knows, or has an opinion.

Or both.

Yes, I can.

I did the 70.3 and my wife did the Sprint. Both our hamstrings were sore, mine for a week. I usually recover quickly from 70.3s, but not that one. Cold water the cause?

The fact that I can, and Ben can not, proves this is a worthless skill.
I would rather have half his speed and be less flexible....

Easily, I'm sitting in a chair right now.

I'm surprised that so many of you cannot touch your toes. How do you put shoes on if you can't reach your feet?

To be fair, it probably wouldn't hurt if I were more flexible, but I agree that I hardly think this was the issue that was sabotaging races in Daytona.

I can touch my toes together any time.

From standing I can also bend over and place my hands flat on the floor. But then I'm closer to the floor than most people :)

I can and I don't consider myself very flexible in the hamstring department. My hips are flexible as hell but not the rest of me.

Yes, with my wrists.

Y'all might want to consider some more full ROM weight training instead of stretching. 2 birds, 1 stone.

No. My physio taught me a trick though. If you squeeze a pillow between your knees, it makes it much easier. Without that trick, the answer is still...negative.

I can palm the floor and I never stretch

Maybe this is why I’m so slow at running?

When I do an aquabike race I literally stumble while getting off the bike because hamstrings are so wasted

Then have a hard time walking usually just sit down with my bike bit even going to the bike racks for some time
