I heard from a reliable source that Trek is planning a new tri bike...no word on material or names - but wondering if we have any insiders who could tell about what the new ride will be like.

My LBS carries Trek, and this weekend he said that Trek was coming out with a new tri bike. However, he didn't have any details about the bike. He hadn't heard any specs, frame material, price, etc. He just said one is in the works.

I sent Trek an e-mail asking if they had any specs (materials, geometry, etc) that they were willing to share with the public yet. They indicated that they are still finalizing the product line, and that the decision would be finalized and announced in mid to late August.
It is a 700c version of their Hilo, aluminum, with no wheel cutout.
