New Felt IA xx Rear Brake Options
I just purchased a Felt IA10 (non integrated front end). It does not come with a brake. I see that it takes a direct mount style. I see a lot of threads about fitment issues with some style of direct mount brakes.
Does anyone have a definitive answer on which brakes fit this frame?

Not sure about an exhaustive list, but the Omega X works, so it's safe to say the Omega One would work as well.

I think the stock brake was supposed to be a vision brake or maybe a TRP. That said mine came from Felt with a Shimano 105 direct mount brake.

I'm looking at the under-bottom bracket version of this one:

Anyone know if all direct mounts are the same?

Hey Jeret. Thanks for the link. That is a pretty good price for a direct mount. Did you pick up an IA frameset also?

I have a 2018 IA16 that was new last summer. The original brake is OK but I was looking for something better.

I not 100% sure that brake will work and was hoping someone here would confirm.

Better picture of what I'm interested in getting:

That looks just like the shimano 105 brake that came in my IA10. It should work.

There is not that much clearance at the non drive side crank arm on mine. So that could possibly be an issue if your cranks are narrower or you have a power meter like a stages on the non drive side. I have a 170mm Quark Riken AL power meter crank on mine.

Thanks, that helps.

It's something I've just started to investigate.

Just a follow up on this subject:

I put the Ultrgra under the BB brake on and it works great. Better than the stock brake that came on my 2018 IA16.

I have an IA16, and originally planned to go with a SRAM S-900 direct mount, and I can tell you that it does not fit because of the side pull. I had a tririg omega x on the front so I just got another for the back. FWIW the bike shop raced about the tririg.

Quick update.
I ended up going with the Shimano BR6810-R Ultegra Rear Road Bike Direct Mount Brake. I picked one up brand new on eBay for $30.
It fits very well and clears my Quarq Elsa power meter with no problems.

I cannot speak for the performance, as Indiana is still very cold and I have not been on the road yet with the bike.
The brake arms feel very smooth, and the fit and finish of the brake is very nice. I have never been a huge Shimano fan, but I can't lie, they produce very nice brakes.
