Looks sweet. http://rustersports.com/product/dimond-premium/ Is it just the same bike, fancier build?

More impressive than anything is the new Dimond Xpress http://rustersports.com/...uct/dimond-frameset/. A full Di2 bike for under $6k. If you have your own race wheels, this is the way to go.

Ungh. Those upturned brake levers though. You cut all the drag from the frame only to have that. Expensive to change out.

I must be looking at different pictures as I see no upturned brake levers.

I ride:

If I remember correctly, Jackmott, or maybe someone else, put out something that was done by MIT (?) that the upturns do not cause much, if any extra drag. Desert Dude might be able to chime in since I am sure he has seen a bunch of different combos. But I assume if there is any drag it is relatively small, I guess either way a new base bar isn't THAT expensive either. Wish I had $6k to buy a new bike though!

I've got some old zipp vukas that are aerodynamically super clean, brake levers pointing straight back. Those on the Dimond base model are practically vertical along with the button shifter portion of them sticking up as well. Double that, since there's two of them, and that's a heck of a lot of drag. Especially right at the front of the bike's airflow. Helmet, front wheel, aerobar, & brake levers are where you get the most bang for your aero buck.

Compare that to the nicer model Dimond, or another great example is the new Giant Trinity. Those have way better airflow over the brake levers. If I'm paying that much for a bike, I wouldn't leave such big, fat, low-hanging fruit out there like that.

Here's the thread from jackmott. http://forum.slowtwitch.com/...ke%20levers;#3656785

That part of the bars have very little area in the wind and the upturn doesn't really do anything with the wind movement. Those bars are also fast. I have them and love the bars. Very narrow and work great!
