Need Advise - Protecting My Bike on the Trainer
Quote | Reply
It never crossed my mind when riding $100 alloy frame, but now having a carbon frame and hearing more and more horror stories about breaking frames on a trainer I am worried. What are some precautionary steps to take to protect my bike? I'm not worried about sweat related corrosion/damage (I know how to handle that), more so physical damage from the loads exerted when riding a trainer. I have a 2014 Diamondback Optum frame and a wheel-on CycleOps mag trainer. I have an appropriate steel trainer skewer.

If you don't hit it with a baseball bat, it will be fine.

Can you let me know where these stories are coming from so I can avoid those sources.

Thanks.
