My fixie's done!
After what seemed like forever prepping, painting and clearcoating the frame, I finally built it up today. Ran into a little glitch when I discovered that my 17t cog is a track cog and not a roadie, and that my rear wheel needs to be re-dished if I want a perfectly straight chainline. I need new dropout set screws, too - but for now I'm rollin' with a 42x14 and only a slightly crooked chainline.

Yee-ha!

Khai,

Welcome to the fixie club. As for riding the fixie...you'll start out calling it training, but after a while you'll just call it fun. Enjoy!

Have a great time riding your fixed. I've been commuting on a fixie (also 42x14) for over a year and I love it!
