My belly hurts!
Well, I went to the doctor this week, had some tests and found out I have a stomach ulcer. I have no details but to hear the doctor say "Gee John, you have an ulcer" and am meeting with him next week to get some more tests and discuss this most recent development. I have been getting pain in my belly, and at the urging of my wife (after a month of on/off pain, she is so smart, I am stupid) I went to the doctor. A few days and a couple of tests later, I am the proud owner of a nexium prescription. So my question is: How does this affect my training and racing? I am 38, done 4 IM, love to race bikes, and started back training after a 8 week layoff post IMF. Anyone out there racing with ulcers? Any advice?

Thanks

Good news, it doesn't have any impact on your training and it will probably stop your ulcer from worsening. I sell Prevacid which is another PPI. Many athletes are on PPI's and doing fine. My training partner just ran a 29:58 10k on Prevacid.
