Must-Do Rides in CO?
I've got a family trip to visit the in-laws for a few days in Colorado at the end of July, and will probably be able to sneak out for one ride while we're there. Looking for recommendations of can't miss rides from folks who know the Gunnison/Crested Butte area. Killer MTB trails? Great road route? Bike park?

No all-day centuries, please; I'll probably get a pass for 4-5 hours, max. :) Although I could get out there more than once if you've got family-friendly suggestions, so throw those out there too!

Thanks in advance!

In CB, the 401 trail is THE classic MTB trail. Snodgrass is also good.

Agreed on 401 trail. It's pretty sweet.

Hartman rocks right by Gunnison is really fun riding as well. One loop (32 mi) of the 'gunnison growler' course should hit all the good stuff.

Did you mean the 40fun Trail? đŸ˜„

You definitely earn the downhill if you ride up.
Don't know if it's still there, but you could get an ice cream in Gothic.

The Lower Loop is easy to get to from town.

Check out MTB Project. Download it on your phone as it'll be handy on the trail.

401 seems to be a consensus one to do if possible! And thanks for the tip on CBMBA; I'll check them out.

Nice, thanks for the recommendations; always appreciate hearing from people who have been out on these trails. Will probably check out Hartman Rocks if I don't end up at Crested Butte.
