Most competitive olympic distance tris in the US?

Was wondering what tris for olympic (or very close to the distance) are the most competitive in the US?

The Olympic tri I did September 2020 that was probably the first race in the southeast US after Covid hit. Everyone else came to play, and I got my butt handed to me.

This.

I qualified a few times. Went once. Yeah everyone is fast. That was 1st and only time I finished in bottom half of my AG.

Edit: about 45 guys went sub 2 hours that year.

AG Nats is always stupid fast. St. Anthony's in Clearwater, Fla used to be one of the premier oly-distance races to do, but has consistently become less and less of a "big" race.

However, Collegiate Nationals was the most stacked field I've ever been in. I raced in Tuscaloosa in 2018 and got my doors absolutely blown off. I can go near 2:00 flat for olympic and I think I finished 50th.

I have not done AG Nationals yet, but it is on my list for this reason. I absolutely love racing in an exceptional field, and I am OK if I get dusted when everyone else is strong.

I did WC 70.3 in 2019 and was looking forward to seeing where I really stack up against the fast. Unfortunately, I had an injury and finished 339 out of 354 finishers in my AG. (Actually, that is the first time I have ever finished in the bottom half of my AG in a HIM triathlon.) So, that is why I need to go back to 70.3 WC in 2021!

CapTex is good, but I wouldn't call it fast. You get mixed with Sprint people and bike course is two loops going through downtown Austin, so it's not that fun. Swim and run courses are good though. I've done a couple of times and doing it this year as well. I would call in a mini 70.3 and highly recommend this race to people who want to do more than local sprint races. TriWaco Olympic is fast through.

Are you sure there were 45 guys under 2 hours? In 2018 only 1 was under 2, see results here https://www.sportstats.us/...s.xhtml?raceid=97297

Perhaps you're thinking to a time they cancelled/shortened the swim?

Was thinking the same thing, I believe they used to have my native Minneapolis there. Would be nice if they expanded the series so that there were more ones like that. I know people travel from all over the country to those ones.

Positive. Was Milwaukee 2013 the 1st time Nats were hosted there. Course did not seem short to me seemed to be spot on.

I just looked it was 48 under 2 hours.
